The tents are indeed heated in the winter. Each tent has a woodstove and during the winter months we also have propane heating so that they are cozy and warm. In addition, each bed has a heated mattress pad and 2 duvets to ensure you get a great nights sleep. While the outdoor plumbing and bathing facilities are turned off in sub-zero temperatures, each tent has a winterized washroom that is heated as well.

Are kids allowed?

Yes we are family friendly and you are welcome to bring your children. Please be sure to include them in the guest count for the reservation and remember that children must be fully supervised at all times while at Alabaster Acres. The tents are heated with wood stoves and supplemental propane heating when its cold and campfires are in use all year round which all require active parenting to keep your little ones safe.

Do kids count as extra guests?

Yes, we do not distinguish between children and adults in terms of extra guests. The only time children do not count is if they are infants and do not require the use of the fold-out couch, bedding, towels or breakfast. If  you are bringing an infant with you, please be sure to let us know in the notes section when booking.

Can I add or remove guests from my reservation at the last minute? Is the couch always made?

Any changes to the number of guests must be made at least 1 week prior to the reservation. The couch is only made up when the reservation is for 3 or 4 guests.

Can I bring my pet(s)?

Registered Glamping guests may bring a maximum of 2 socialized, quiet and well-behaved dogs only. Unfortunately we do not allow any other pets on the property. You are fully responsible for the behaviour of your dogs and they must be kept on a leash at all times. Please refer to the complete pet policy found here.

How many people can stay in each tent?

Each tent has a king size bed and a double size pull-out couch and is designed to sleep up to 4 guests. If you are a family of 5 and can fit within those bed configurations, please make your reservation here on the website for 4 guests (the maximum the system will allow) and then send us an email to request the addition of the 5th person. We will edit your reservation manually for you.

How is Alabaster Acres responding to the Covid-19 pandemic?

Glamping at Alabaster Acres remains open as hotels have so far been unaffected by government restrictions.

The safety of our staff and guests is our top priority as we continue to deal with the Covid-19 pandemic.

Physical distancing measures are in place and we encourage all non-related guests to keep a distance of 6 ft or 2 m apart at all times.

In the winter months (November through April) there are no shared facilities at all. Only the Copper Retreat and the Gunmetal Getaway tents are open and each one has the use of its own private winterized washroom.

The open-air bath, shower and kitchen wash-up facilities are closed for the season but don't worry we handle the dirty dishes for you.

In the summer months (May through October), each tent has the use of its own private washroom. The completely open-air bath, shower and kitchen wash-up facilities are shared by both the Copper Retreat and the Gunmetal Getaway tents. Hand sanitizer and disinfectant are placed in all 3 areas so that all knobs and touchable surfaces can be sprayed at any time. The Platinum Hideout tent has its own set of completely private facilities.

If the Government issues a stay-at-home order that directly affects the date of your reservation, you will be allowed the option to reschedule your booking to an alternate date if you wish. Requests to reschedule must be made at least 7 days in advance of the original reservation.

Our goal, as always, is to ensure the safety and comfort of our guests at all times. Should you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
